ODUk_PM_OCI

ODUk_PM_OCI

Description

The ODUk_PM_OCI alarm indicates an ODUk PM open connection. An optical port on an NE reports an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm when its signal output end is not connected to its signal input end and the value of the STAT byte is "110".

k indicates the level of rate, its value is 0, 1, 2, 3, or flex.

Impact on the System

Services carried on the optical port that reports an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm are interrupted.

Possible Causes

  • Cause 1: An board on an upstream NE of the NE that reports an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm reported an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm.

The following figure shows details. Traffic flows from NE 1 to NE 2. Upon detecting that an board on an upstream NE 1 detects an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm signal, the board of NE 2 reports an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm.

  • Cause 2: A loopback is configured for an board on the NE that is the service source.
  • Cause 3: Cross-connections are not configured for an board on the NE that is the service source, but non-intrusive monitoring is enabled on the NE that reports an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm.

Procedure

  1. Cause 1: An board on an upstream NE of the NE that reports an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm reported an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm.
    1. Check for an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm on all boards of all upstream NEs. If an board on an upstream NE reports an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm, find the NE that triggers the ODUk_PM_OCI alarm based on the traffic direction.
    2. Check whether a loopback is configured for the board on the NE that triggers the ODUk_PM_OCI alarm, and release any configured loopbacks.
    3. Check whether the ODUk_PM_OCI alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 2.
  2. Cause 2: A loopback is configured for an board on the NE that is the service source.
    1. Check whether a loopback is configured for an board on the NE that is the service source, and release any configured loopbacks.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 3.
  3. Cause 3: Cross-connections are not configured for an board on the NE that is the service source, but non-intrusive monitoring is enabled on the NE that reports an ODUk_PM_OCI alarm.
    1. Check whether cross-connections are configured for an board on the NE that is the service source. If no cross-connections are configured and cross-connections do not need to be configured, disable non-intrusive monitoring on the NE. If no cross-connections are configured but cross-connections must be configured, configure cross-connections for the board.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei engineers to handle the alarm.
