Heat cannot be dissipated efficiently, affecting the running of the system.

If the FAN_FAIL alarm is not cleared in a timely manner, the NE may be damaged due to overheat. Then, all services on the NE are interrupted.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • The fan attribute is incorrectly set.
  • The fan is not installed or is incorrectly installed.
  • The fan fails.
  • The board is in poor contact with the backplane.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the fan attribute is set to the adjustable mode and the fan speed level is not set.
