FDBSIZEALM_ELAN

FDBSIZEALM_ELAN

Description

The FDBSIZEALM_ELAN alarm indicates that the E-LAN forwarding table entries are exhausted. Parameters

Impact on the System

The E-LAN service stops learning new MAC addresses. As a result, unknown unicast packets in the traffic flow may increase, and the broadcast packets may increase accordingly, affecting the line rate.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • Cause 1: The value of Address Detection Upper Threshold is too small.
  • Cause 2: The E-LAN service is attacked.

Procedure

  1. Cause 1: The value of Address Detection Upper Threshold is too small.
    1. On the NMS, check whether the value of Address Detection Upper Threshold is too small.
    2. If the value is too small, set the parameter to a larger value based on the actual situations. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 2.
  2. Cause 2: The E-LAN service is attacked.
    1. On the NMS, set the processing mode of E-LAN service for the unknown frames to discard.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
