The MPLS_PW_MISMERGE alarm indicates that the TTSIs of PWs are incorrectly merged. This alarm is reported if CV/FFD packets with correct TTSIs (including the PW ID and node ID) and CV/FFD packets with incorrect TTSIs are received in three consecutive CV/FFD periods.

Alarm Severity Alarm Type

Communication alarm

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Name Meaning

Parameter 1

Impact on the System

The local PW receives packets from other PWs and services may be interrupted.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of the MPLS_PW_MISMERGE alarm are as follows:

  • Different PWs are configured with the same PW label and are sent to the same sink.
  • The physical link is connected incorrectly.

  1. On the U2000, check whether two PWs are configured with the same PW label.
    If... Then...

Several PWs are configured with the same PW label

Delete redundant PWs or configure a unique label for each PW, and check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to the next step.

Each PW is configured with a unique PW label

    Go to the next step.

  2. Check whether an optical fiber or a cable is incorrectly connected between both ends.
    If... Then...

An optical fiber or cable is incorrectly connected

Rectify the connection or service configurations based on the actual networking scenario. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to the next step.

No optical fiber or cable is incorrectly connected
