Parameters

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Name Meaning

Parameter 1

Indicates the board ID.

Parameter 2

Indicates the sub-board ID.

Parameter 3, Parameter 4

Indicate the port ID.

Parameter 5

Indicates the timeslot number or path ID.

0xff indicates that Parameter 5 is reserved.

Impact on the System

The services in the MP group deteriorate.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • Cause 1: The configured maximum differential delay is over low.
  • Cause 2: The network bandwidth is insufficient.
  • Cause 3: Signals deteriorate because of damaged optical fibers.

Procedure

  1. Cause 1: The configured maximum differential delay is over low.
    1. On the NMS, check whether the maximum differential delay configured for the MP group is over low. If the maximum differential delay is over low, follow the instructions in Creating MP Groups to increase the maximum differential delay.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 2.
  2. Cause 2: The network bandwidth is insufficient.
    1. Check whether the network bandwidth is sufficient. If the bandwidth is insufficient, add PPP members in the MP group to increase the bandwidth. For details, see Creating MP Groups.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 3.
  3. Cause 3: Signals deteriorate because of damaged optical fibers.
    1. Check whether the optical fiber is intact. If the optical fiber is damaged, replace it.
    2. Check whether alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
