The DCNSIZE_OVER alarm indicates that the system control, switching, and timing board on the gateway NE (GNE) detects excessive non-GNEs on a DCN subnet.

Alarm Severity Alarm Type

Equipment alarm

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Name Meaning

Parameter 1, Parameter 2

Indicate the size of a DCN network.

Impact on the System

The GNE needs to process more DCN packets if the non-GNEs increase on a DCN subnet. When the traffic of DCN packets exceeds the bandwidth provided by DCN channels on the GNE, some DCN packets will be discarded.

Possible Causes

The possible cause of the DCNSIZE_OVER alarm is as follows:

The number of non-GNEs on a DCN subnet exceeds the recommended value.

  1. Replan the DCN subnet based on actual routes and reduce the number of non-GNEs within its allowed range.
  2. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    If... Then...

    The alarm persists

Contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.

    The alarm is cleared

    No further action is required.
