Description

The RELAY_LOF alarm indicates that the receiving frames of the dry contact signal transmission are lost.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:
  • The service frame format is incorrectly configured.
  • The transmit board (including the cross-connect and timing board) at the opposite end is faulty, and therefore the frame structure is lost.
  • The receive board (including the cross-connect and timing board) at the local end is faulty, and therefore the frame structure is lost.

Procedure

  1. The service frame format is incorrectly configured.
    1. Check whether the frame format of the receive board at the local end is consistent with that of the transmit board at the opposite end. Ensure that the service configuration is correct.

      If...

      Then...

      The frame formats are inconsistent

      Check the frame format of the transmit board at the opposite end, correctly configure services on the NMS, and ensure that the frame formats at both ends are consistent. Then, check whether the RELAY_LOF alarm is cleared. If the RELAY_LOF alarm persists, go to the next step.

      The frame formats are consistent

      Go to the next step.

  2. Cause 1 and cause 2: The transmit board (including the cross-connect and timing board) at the opposite or local end is faulty, and therefore the frame structure is lost.
    1. Check whether the TU_AIS or DOWN_E1_AIS alarm occurs on the board at the local end.

      If...

      Then...

      The TU_AIS or DOWN_E1_AIS alarm is reported

      Refer to the corresponding section in this document to clear the TU_AIS, DOWN_E1_AIS. Then, check whether the RELAY_LOF alarm is cleared. If the RELAY_LOF alarm persists, go to the next step.

      No TU_AIS or DOWN_E1_AIS alarm is reported

      Go to the next step.

  3. Replace the board that reports this alarm. For details about how to replace a specific board, see Parts Replacement of the Maintenance Guide. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.
