The DCC_CHAN_LACK alarm indicates that DCC channel resources are insufficient.

Communication alarm


When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Parameter 1, Parameter 2

Indicates the slot number.

Parameter 3

Indicates the optical port number.

Parameter 4

Indicates the DCC channel mode in which CPU resources fail to be obtained.

  • 0x01: One byte of DCC channel resources fail to be obtained.
  • 0x03: Three bytes of DCC channel resources fail to be obtained.
  • 0x09: Nine bytes of DCC channel resources fail to be obtained.
  • 0x0C: Twelve bytes of DCC channel resources fail to be obtained.
  • 0x20: Thirty-two bytes of DCC channel resources fail to be obtained.
  • 0x60: Ninety-six bytes of DCC channel resources fail to be obtained.

Impact on the System

This alarm does not have any impact on the system and services.

Possible Causes

The possible cause of this alarm is as follows:

There are no sufficient CPU resources to be allocated to the optical channel of the corresponding type. For example, the channel type of optical port 1 is D1-D3, but the CPU cannot allocate three bytes of channel resources to this optical port.


  1. View the DCC_CHAN_LACK alarm on the U2000 to determine the board and optical port where the alarm is generated.
  2. Delete the DCC channel of the optical port that cannot obtain CPU resources, or disable the DCC channel. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Do not delete the DCC channels of an optical port that are being used. For the D1-D3 and D4-D12 DCC channels, the DCC communication must be disabled or enabled at the same time.

    If... Then...

    The alarm persists

    Contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.

    The alarm is cleared

    No further action is required.
