Description

The TEM_HA alarm indicates that the temperature of the laser crosses the upper threshold.

Parameters

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

The laser will be abnormal and aged more quickly. If the laser is faulty, bit errors will occur or services will be interrupted.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • The ambient temperature of the board is high.
  • The optical module is faulty.
  • The line board is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check the temperature of the NE subrack.

    If... Then...

    The temperature of the NE subrack is high

    Decrease the ambient temperature to the allowed range. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to the next step.

    The temperature of the NE subrack is normal

    Go to the next step.

  2. Check the alarmed line board and replace the optical module. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    If... Then...

    The alarm persists

    Go to the next step.

    The alarm is cleared

    No further action is required.

  3. Replace the line board.
