Indicate the ID of the peer NE.

Impact on the System

The automatic compensation function of the IEEE 1588 ring network may be unavailable.

Possible Causes

The possible cause of the PTP_DECRYPTION_FAIL alarm is as follows:

The IEEE 1588 packet keys are inconsistent between the NEs.

Procedure

  1. Check the IEEE 1588 packet keys, find the NE with a different key, and change the key of the NE to ensure that the keys are consistent between the NEs. The procedure is as follows:
    1. In the Main Topology, right-click the desired NE and choose NE Explorer from the shortcut menu.
    2. Choose Configuration > Clock > PPT Clock > Set 1588 Compensation Back Safe Password from the Function Tree.
    3. Click the blank text box under Value next to 1588 Compensation Back Safe Password. In the displayed dialog box, enter a key.

      NOTE:

Only an NMS user with Operator Group rights or higher is allowed to set the key.

  2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.
