The PPP_NCP_FAIL alarm indicates a Network Control Protocol (NCP) negotiation failure. This alarm is reported when the NCP configuration attributes are inconsistent between the local and opposite NEs.

The possible cause of this alarm is as follows:

  1. Cause: The MP configurations at the local and opposite NEs are inconsistent.
    1. On the NMS, check whether the MP configurations at the local and opposite NEs are consistent. If they are inconsistent, configure them consistently. For details, see Creating MP Groups.
    2. Check whether alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
