MRING_APS_MISMATCH_W

MRING_APS_MISMATCH_W

Description

MRING_APS_MISMATCH_W is an alarm indicating incorrect configurations of west neighbor nodes on an MPLS-TP ring. This alarm occurs when a west port on an MPLS-TP ring receives an APS packet that carries a source ID different from the source ID set by the state machine.

Parameters

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Name Meaning

Parameter 1

Indicates the board ID.

Impact on the System

APS on the MPLS-TP ring works incorrectly and therefore cannot protect services from being interrupted in case of a fault.

Possible Causes

A possible cause of the alarm is as follows:

  • Cause: A physical link connection is incorrect.

As shown in Figure 4-26, a correct link connection should be connecting NE1 and NE3 through NE2. When a west port on NE1 is connected to an east port on NE3, the west port on NE1 receives an APS packet that carries a source ID different from that set by the state machine, reporting an MRING_APS_MISMATCH_W alarm. Meanwhile, the east port on NE3 receives an APS packet that carries a source ID different from that set by the state machine, reporting an MRING_APS_MISMATCH_E alarm.

Procedure

  1. Cause: A physical link connection is incorrect.
    1. As shown in Figure 4-26, check whether the link connection is correct. If no, make a correct link connection.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.
