ODC_POWER_FAIL

ODC_POWER_FAIL

Description

The ODC_POWER_FAIL alarm indicates that the mains supply input power voltage or DC output power voltage is abnormal.

Attribute

Alarm Severity Alarm Type
Major Equipment alarm

Parameters

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Name Meaning
Parameter 1

Indicates the fault type.

  • 0x56: The mains supply input power is over-voltage.
  • 0x57: The mains supply input power is under-voltage.
  • 0x58: The DC output power is over-voltage.
  • 0x59: The DC output power is under-voltage.
  • 0x5b: There is no mains supply input power.
  • 0x5c: The phase voltage is unavailable.

Impact on the System

When the mains supply input power is abnormal, the storage battery provides power supply for the equipment and cannot support long-term operation of the equipment.

When the DC output power abnormal, the services on the equipment are interrupted.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • The mains supply input power voltage is abnormal.
  • The DC output power voltage is abnormal.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the threshold for triggering an alarm indicating abnormal mains supply input power voltage is set to appropriate value.
    If... Then...

The threshold is set to an inappropriate value

Set the threshold to an appropriate value.

The threshold is set to an appropriate value

    Go to the next step.
  2. Check whether the AC circuit breaker is open.
    If... Then...

The AC circuit breaker is open

    Close the AC circuit breaker.

The AC circuit breaker is closed

    Go to the next step.
  3. Check the AC input power cable.
    If... Then...

The cable is connected incorrectly or loosely

Connect the cable correctly and securely.

The cable is deteriorating or damaged

    Replace the cable.

    The cable is connected correctly

    Go to the next step.
  4. Check whether the AC power grid distributes power correctly.
    If... Then...

The AC power grid distributes power incorrectly

Rectify the fault on the power module at the base station.

The AC power grid distributes power correctly

    Go to the next step.
  5. Check whether the monitoring equipment is faulty.
    If... Then...

    The monitoring equipment is faulty

Rectify the fault on the monitoring equipment.

The monitoring equipment is functioning properly

    Go to 6.
  6. Check whether the alarm threshold is set to an appropriate value.
    If... Then...

The alarm threshold is set to an inappropriate value

Set the threshold to an appropriate value.

The alarm threshold is set to an appropriate value

    Go to the next step.
  7. Check whether the PSU module is faulty.
    If... Then...

    The PSU module is faulty

Rectify the fault on the PSU module.

The PSU module is functioning properly

    Go to the next step.
  8. Check whether the power of the storage battery is sufficient.
    If... Then...

    The power is insufficient

    Recharge the storage battery.

    The power is sufficient

Contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.
