MPLS_PW_CSF

Description

The MPLS_PW_CSF alarm indicates that client signals fail. This alarm is reported when the local NE receives a Client Signal Fail (CSF) packet from the opposite NE, indicating that a fault occurs at the remote NE's client layer.

Possible Causes

The possible cause of this alarm is as follows:

Cause: A fault occurs at the client access side.

As shown in Figure 4-8, upon detecting a client service signal failure, MEP1 sends a PW CSF packet to MEP2. MEP2 reports the MPLS_PW_CSF alarm after receiving the PW CSF packet.

Procedure

  1. Cause: A fault occurs at the client access side.
    1. Check whether the transmit port on the opposite client side is disabled. If the transmit port is disabled, enable it. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to the next step.
    2. Check whether a board is faulty or reset on the opposite client side. If a board is reset, check whether the alarm is cleared after the board reset is complete. If a board is faulty, replace the faulty board. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to the next step.
    3. Check whether a link on the opposite client side is faulty. If a link is faulty, replace it.
    4. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
