Description

The CES_K2_M alarm indicates that a mismatched K2 byte of packet MSP is detected. This alarm is reported when the protection mode used on the opposite NE, which is indicated by bit 5 of the received K2 byte, is different from that used on the local NE for a period of time (2s by default).

Packet MSP fails. If a fiber cut or other fault occurs at this time, services may be interrupted.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • Cause 1: The packet MSP configurations are incorrect.
  • Cause 2: A certain service board is faulty.
  • Cause 3: A certain cross-connect board is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Cause 1: The packet MSP configurations are incorrect.
    1. Verify that the packet MSP configurations at the local and opposite ends are consistent.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 2.
  2. Cause 2: A certain service board is faulty.
    1. Check whether the local and opposite service boards on which MSP is configured are functional.
    2. If any of them is faulty, replace the faulty board.
    3. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 3.
  3. Cause 3: A certain cross-connect board is faulty.
    1. Check whether the local and opposite cross-connect boards are functional.
    2. If any of them is faulty, replace the faulty board.
    3. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
