Description

The ODC_MDL_ABN alarm indicates that an exception occurs in a power module.

Parameters

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Parameter 1

Indicates the ID of the power module that reports the alarm.

Parameter 2, Parameter 3

Indicates the alarm cause.

  • 0x01: The power module is shut down.
  • 0x02: The power module is faulty.
  • 0x03: The power module stops self-protection.
  • 0x04: The power module fails to communicate with the PMU, or the power module cannot be detected.
  • 0x05: No power module is installed in the outdoor cabinet, and the logical slot for the power module is not set on the U2000.
  • 0x06: A power module is installed in the outdoor cabinet, but the logical slot for the power module is not set on the U2000.

Impact on the System

The loading capability of the power system is affected. As a result, the storage battery may discharge, or even the entire power system of the equipment may be powered off.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • The power module is not configured on the U2000.
  • The power module cannot be detected.
  • The power module is faulty.
  • An exception occurs in the PMU.

Procedure

  1. Set the logical slot for the power module on the U2000.
  2. Check whether the power module cannot be detected, or the power module is installed loosely.

    If... Then...
    The power module cannot be detected Install the power module correctly. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to the next step.
    The power module can be detected Reinstall the power module properly.

  3. Check whether the power module is faulty.

    If... Then...
    The power module is faulty Replace the optical module. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to the next step.
    The power module is properly functioning Go to the next step.

  4. Check whether an exception occurs in the PMU. If an exception occurs, replace the PMU.
