  • The customer does not purchase the license for using this feature.

Definitions of States

Normal state

In the normal state, all the check items of the license file pass the check, and the equipment can properly implement all the functions specified in the license file.

Trial state

In the trial state, the license file fails to be checked for correctness. During the grace period, the equipment can still implement all the functions specified in the license file.

License grace period

The license grace period is the amount of time the features specified in a license file can continue functioning after the license file expires. By default, the license grace period lasts for 60 days.

Default state

In the default state, the integrity check for the license file fails. Ongoing services that use the licensed features are available, but cannot be configured any more. For example, a service that needs to use the licensed features cannot be added or modified.

State Transition

The following figure shows the basic state transition of a license file on an NE.

Table 4-1 provides the major conditions that trigger state transition of a license file.
