The CFG_DATASAVE_FAIL alarm indicates a data save failure. This alarm is reported from a system control board when the database fails to save configuration data.

Alarm Severity Alarm Type

Processing alarm

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Name Meaning
Parameter 1, Parameter 2

Indicate the slot ID of the board that fails to save data into the database.

Parameter 3

Indicates the cause for the data save failure.

  • 0x01: The database fails to save non-transaction configuration data.
  • 0x02: The database fails to save transaction configuration data.
  • 0x03: Operating the database fails when a system control board delivers all configuration data to a board.
Parameter 4, Parameter 5

The value is always 0xFF, and this parameter is meaningless.

Impact on the System

Configuration data of existing services may be lost, or the database may be damaged.

Possible Causes

The possible cause of the CFG_DATASAVE_FAIL alarm is as follows:

The database fails to save configuration data.

  1. When the alarm is reported, back up the faulty database for fault diagnosis. For details, see Backing Up the NE Database Manually in the Supporting Tasks. You can contact Huawei technical support engineers to analyze the faulty database.
  2. Obtain the latest normal back-up database files, deliver service configurations, and end the alarm handling. For details, see Restoring the Database of the NE in the Supporting Tasks.

The delivered service configurations are different from real services because the databases are not backed up in real time. To restore the services before the fault occurs, configure the affected services.
