CFG_DATACHECK_FAIL

CFG_DATACHECK_FAIL

Description

The CFG_DATACHECK_FAIL alarm indicates an error in routine database check. An operating NE regularly checks its database. This alarm is reported from a system control board when routine database check fails.

Parameters

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Name Meaning
Parameter 1, Parameter 2

Indicate the slot ID of the board on which routine database check fails.

Parameter 3

Indicates the cause for the database check failure.

  • 0x01 (10-min routine check error type 1): indicates a failure to check basic NE configuration data.
  • 0x02 (10-min routine check error type 2): indicates a failure to check database configuration information.
  • 0x03 (10-min routine check error type 3): indicates a database restoration failure.
  • 0x04 (10-min routine check error type 4): indicates a database check failure.
  • 0x05: indicates a database check failure on the standby board.
  • 0x06: indicates a failure in real-time retransmission database check on the standby board.
  • 0x07: indicates a failure in batch backup database check on the active board.
Parameter 4, Parameter 5

The value is always 0xFF, and this parameter is meaningless.

Impact on the System

Configuration data of existing services is lost, or the database is damaged.

Possible Causes

The possible cause of the CFG_DATACHECK_FAIL alarm is as follows:

  • An error occurs during routine database check.
  • A database check failure on the standby board.
  • A failure in real-time retransmission database check on the standby board.
  • A failure in batch backup database check on the active board.

Procedure

  1. When the alarm is reported, back up the faulty database for fault diagnosis. For details, see Backing Up the NE Database Manually in the Supporting Tasks. You can contact Huawei technical support engineers to analyze the faulty database.
  2. Obtain the latest normal back-up database files, deliver service configurations, and end the alarm handling. For details, see Restoring the Database of the NE in the Supporting Tasks.

    NOTE:

The delivered service configurations are different from real services because the databases are not backed up in real time. To restore the services before the fault occurs, configure the affected services.
