Description

The J0_MM alarm indicates inconsistent regenerator section trace identifiers (J0 bytes).

Parameters

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Possible Causes

The possible cause of this alarm is as follows:

  • The regenerator section trace identifier (J0 byte) transmitted by the opposite end is not the same as the regenerator section trace identifier (J0 byte) that the local end is supposed to receive.

Procedure

  1. On the U2000, check whether the regenerator section trace identifier (J0 byte) transmitted by the opposite end is the same as the regenerator section trace identifier (J0 byte) that the local end is supposed to receive. Ensure that they are the same.
  2. Check on the U2000 whether the J0_MM alarm is cleared.

    If... Then...
    If this alarm is cleared No further action is required.
    If this alarm persists Go to the next step.

  3. If the alarm persists, perform a self-loop with optical fibers for the optical ports on the line boards at the two end. Replace the board that still reports the J0_MM alarm.
