Description

The CES_K1_K2_M alarm indicates the mismatch between the K1 byte and the K2 byte. This alarm is reported when the channel numbers indicated in the transmitted K1 byte and the received K2 byte are inconsistent and the inconsistency lasts for a period of time (160 ms by default).

Packet MSP fails. If a fiber cut or other fault occurs at this time, services may be interrupted.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • Cause 1: The packet MSP types at the local and opposite ends are different.
  • Cause 2: Fiber connections are incorrect.
  • Cause 3: A certain service board is faulty.
  • Cause 4: A certain cross-connect board is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Cause 1: The packet MSP types at the local and opposite ends are different.
    1. Check whether the packet MSP is consistently configured at the local and opposite ends. If 1+1 protection is configured at one end and 1: N protection is configured at the other end, the CES_K1_K2_M alarm is reported
    2. Configure 1: N MSP at both ends, and check whether the CES_K1_K2_M alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 2.
  2. Cause 2: Fiber connections are incorrect.
    1. Verify that the optical fibers on the multiplex section are properly connected and that the logical fiber configuration is the same as the physical fiber connection.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 3.
  3. Cause 3: A certain service board is faulty.
    1. Check whether the local and opposite service boards on which MSP is configured are functional.
    2. If any of them is faulty, replace the faulty board.
    3. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 4.
  4. Cause 4: A certain cross-connect board is faulty.
    1. Check whether the local and opposite cross-connect boards are functional.
    2. If any of them is faulty, replace the faulty board.
    3. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
