Description

The PW_APS_OUTAGE alarm indicates that a pw APS protection group fails. This alarm is reported when both the protection and working pws in a pw APS protection group fail, and is cleared when either of the protection or working pw recovers.

Possible Causes

Possible causes of this alarm are as follows:

  • Cause 1: Ports carrying the working and protection pws are not enabled.
  • Cause 2: Fibers connections are faulty.
  • Cause 3: Alarms occur on both the working and protection pws.

Procedure

  1. Query the status of the pw APS protection group on the U2000 and identify the working and protection pws.
  2. Cause 1: Ports carrying the working and protection pws are not enabled.
    1. Check whether ports carrying the working and protection pws are enabled. If they are not enabled, enable them.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 3.
  3. Cause 2: Fibers connections are faulty.
    1. Replace the faulty fibers or connect the fibers correctly.
    2. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, go to 4.
  4. Cause 3: Alarms occur on both the working and protection pws.
    1. Check for alarms, such as MPLS_PW_LOCV, on the working and protection pws. If such an alarm occurs, clear the alarm first.
    2. Check whether the PW_APS_OUTAGE alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.
