The TD alarm indicates laser transmit performance deteriorates. This alarm is reported if the bias current of the laser is higher than A, which is 1.2 times greater than the initial bias current value, and lower than B, which is 1.5 times greater than the initial value.

  • Cause: The laser is aged.
    1. Check whether the board supports pluggable optical modules.



      The board supports pluggable optical modules

      Replace pluggable optical modules. For details, see Replacing the Optical Module. If the alarm persists, replace the faulty board.

      The board does not support pluggable optical modules

      Reset the board. For details, see Resetting Boards.

      If the alarm persists, replace the faulty board.

    2. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel to handle the alarm.

In a cooled optical module that adopts automatic level control (ALC), its laser ages after working for a long time, resulting in reduced emission efficiency. To ensure constant output optical power, the laser bias current, an indicator of laser aging degree, should be increased.
