PCM_DATA_CONFLICT

PCM_DATA_CONFLICT

Description

The PCM_DATA_CONFLICT alarm indicates a data conflict of multiplexer group members. This alarm is reported when a multiplexer group receives multiple channels of valid data simultaneously and a data conflict occurs.

Attribute

Alarm Severity Alarm Type
Major Processing alarm

Parameters

When you view an alarm on the network management system, select the alarm. In the Alarm Details field display the related parameters of the alarm. The alarm parameters are in the following format: Alarm Parameters (hex): parameter1 parameter2...parameterN. For details about each parameter, refer to the following table.

Name Meaning
Parameter 1

This parameter is meaningless. It has a fixed value of 0x01.

Parameter 2

Indicates the timeslot ID.

Parameter 3

Indicates the path numbers.

Impact on the System

Services of the multiplexer group are interrupted.

Possible Causes

Cause: The multiplexer group receives multiple channels of valid data simultaneously, which causes a data conflict.

As shown in Figure 4-31, if service signals from both Slave 1 and Slave 2 to the Master are valid, a data conflict of the multiplexer group members occurs on NE1. NE1's ports that receive services from Slave 1 and Slave 2 report PCM_DATA_CONFLICT alarms.

Procedure

  1. Cause: The multiplexer group receives multiple channels of valid data simultaneously, which causes a data conflict.
    1. Query the alarm on the NMS. Determine the number of the path where the data conflict occurs in the multiplexer group based on alarm parameters.
    2. Ensure that the PCM devices connected to the path do not transmit valid data simultaneously.
    3. Check whether the alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei technical support engineers to handle the alarm.
