Configuration Process

Configuration Process

This solution describes how to configure services for smart line boards in end-to-end mode and on a per-NE basis.

End-to-end Configuration Process

Table 3-239 describes the operations in the configuration flowchart.

Table 3-239  End-to-end configuration operation description
No. Procedure Remarks
1 Set port parameters for the board.

Required

  • Parameter configuration: Configure port parameters based on the network design.
  • Operation description: For details, see Configuring WDM Interfaces.
2 Search for WDM trails.

Required

OCh trails are automatically created after being searched out.

3 Configure virtual interfaces and mapping.

Required

Required when a smart line board is used for transmitting SDH or packet services.

  • Set parameters as follows:
    • For packet services, set Service Mapping to ETH, and set the other parameters according to the service plan.
    • For SDH services, set Service Mapping to SDH, and set the other parameters according to the service plan.
  • Operation description: For details, see Configuring Virtual Interfaces and Mapping in End-to-end Mode.
4 Create client trails.

Required

Create Client paths according to services on the smart line board.

No. Procedure Remarks
1 Set port parameters for the board.

Required

  • Parameter configuration: Configure port parameters based on the network design.
  • Operation description: For details, see Configuring WDM Interfaces.
2 Configure virtual interfaces and mapping.

Required

Required when a smart line board is used for transmitting SDH or packet services.

  • Set parameters as follows:
    • For packet services, set Port Type to ETH, and set the other parameters according to the service plan.
    • For SDH services, set Port Type to SDH, and set the other parameters according to the service plan.
  • Operation description: For details, see Configuring Virtual Interfaces and Mapping on a Per-NE Basis.
3 Configure virtual SDH optical fibers and Layer 2 packet links.

Optional

Required when SDH trails and protection must be configured in end-to-end mode.

Operation description:

NOTICE:

It is recommended to configure virtual SDH optical fibers and Layer 2 packet links after automatically searching for WDM trails. If the manual configuration method is used, ensure the correctness of the configurations. If the configurations are incorrect, services may be unavailable.

4 Create client trails.

Required

Create Client paths according to services on the smart line board.
