Configuring the haproxyIP Mapping

Configuring the haproxyIP Mapping

Scenarios

Before using VNC to log in to VMs on the FusionSphere OpenStack management console, you need to configure the mapping relationship between the haproxyIP and the FusionSphere OpenStack domain name on the local PC.

Prerequisites

  • You have obtained the haproxyIP and the OpenStack domain name.
  • The IP address of the local PC can ping the haproxyIP.

Procedure

  1. Open the hosts file on the local PC.

    • For the Windows OS, the path for obtaining the hosts file is C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.
    • For the Linux OS, the path for obtaining the hosts file is /etc/hosts.

  2. Add the following information to the end of the file to set the mapping relationship:

FusionSphere OpenStack reverse proxy IP address of the environment nova-novncproxy.FusionSphere OpenStackLocal domain name

    Example:

    172.16.0.2 nova-novncproxy.manage-az.domainname.com

  3. Save and close the file.
  4. If the proxy service is enabled for the browser, disable the proxy service or add the FusionSphere OpenStack domain name to the exception list.

The following uses Internet Explorer 11.0 as an example.

    Disabling the proxy service:

    1. On the Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Internet Options.

The Internet Options dialog box is displayed.

    2. Click the Connections tab, and click LAN Settings.

The Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box is displayed.

    3. Deselect Use a proxy server for your LAN (these settings do not apply to dial-up or VPN connections).
    4. Click OK.

Adding the FusionSphere OpenStack domain name to the exception list:

    1. On the Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Internet Options.

The Internet Options dialog box is displayed.

    2. Click the Connections tab, and click LAN Settings.

The Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box is displayed.

    3. Click Advanced.

The Proxy Settings dialog box is displayed.

    4. In the Exceptions area, add the FusionSphere OpenStack domain name, for example, nova-novncproxy.manage-az.domainname.com.
    5. Click OK.
