Parameters

Name

Meaning

Alarm Severity

Indicates the alarm severity.

Alarm Source

Indicates the alarm source.

Subject

Indicates the event body for which an alarm is generated.

Time

Indicates the time when an alarm is generated.

Description

Provides an alarm description.

Event Code

Indicates the event code of an alarm.

Impact on the System

The power supply units (PSUs) may power off, which will affect services.

System Actions

None

Possible Causes

  • The power supply to the CMC is unstable.
  • The upper threshold for major alarms is not properly set for the sensor.
  • Some components on the CMC board are faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the value of Alarm Source in alarm locating parameters is CMC1 or CMC2.

  2. Run the smmget -t sensor -d thresholdall command on the CMC CLI, and check whether the upper threshold for major alarms is set properly.

The proper threshold for the sensor is as follows:

    +3.3VDD: 3.64 V

  3. Run the smmset -t sensor -d uppercritical -v value command (value indicates the upper threshold for major alarms) on the CMC CLI to change the threshold. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 4.

  4. Run the reboot command on the CMC CLI to restart the CMC. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 5.

  5. Replace the CMC. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 6.

  6. Restart the CMC. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 7.

  7. Contact Huawei technical support.

Clearing

This alarm is cleared when the sensor detects that the voltage is lower than the upper threshold for major alarms.

After the fault is rectified, the system automatically clears the alarm.
