What Is Oracle Service?

What Is Oracle Service?

Oracle database service is an online relational database service that provides self-service application, stability and reliability, on-demand expansion, and convenient management based on the Oracle multi-user architecture.

Oracle database service is designed to integrate the Oracle database into the cloud as a service. Resource pooling of Oracle databases allows you to apply for and maintain Oracle DB instances as required. In this way, the threshold for using Oracle database is substantially lowered, the O&M cost is greatly reduced, and resource integration is improved.

  • Oracle database service provides a professional database management platform that has comprehensive self-service management functions, allowing users to easily set, perform operations on, and expand the Oracle database in the cloud. On the self-service console, you can execute almost all routine tasks without getting the details, simplifying O&M process, and reducing routine O&M workload. Therefore, you can focus on application development and service development.
  • By managing the resource pool consisting of multiple clusters, the Oracle database provides self-service provisioning and management services for Pluggable Database (PDB) instances that are out-of-the-box, scalable, and easy to manage based on the multi-tenant feature of Oracle 12c Container Database (CDB) and PDB.
