Region Type III

Region Type III

The FusionCloud infrastructure layer consists of servers, storage devices, and network devices. Hardware devices are interconnected using switches. Figure 3-19 and Table 3-9 show the typical FusionCloud networking in the Region Type III scenario.

Function Layer

Function Description

Management zone

The following nodes are connected to the access switch in the management zone:

  • Basic management node and extended management node
  • File storage (the data plane uses storage access switches.)
  • Object storage LVS node and object storage node (the data plane uses backend access switches.)
  • eBackup Server&Proxy node and backup storage (the data plane is connected to the storage access switch)
  • Quorum server node and active-active storage (the data plane uses storage access switches.)
  • DR storage (the data plane uses storage access switches.)
  • Hadoop management/control/data nodes
  • LibrA management/data nodes

Network interconnection zone

Core switches and border firewalls are deployed in this zone. Access switches in each zone are connected to the core switch.

External network egress zone

The router provides the external network egress.

Computing and storage zone (KVM)

The following nodes are connected to the access switch in the computing and storage zone:

  • KVM compute node
  • Distributed storage node
  • Service storage (the data plane uses storage access switches.)

Computing and storage zone (SAP Cloud)

The following nodes are connected to the access switch in the computing and storage zone:

  • SAP Cloud compute node (virtualization)
  • SAP Cloud compute node (BMS)
  • Service storage (the data plane uses storage access switches.)

Computing and storage zone (BMS)

The following nodes are connected to the access switch in the computing and storage zone:

  • BMS node
  • Service storage (the data plane uses storage access switches.)

Computing and storage zone (VMware inventory management)

The following nodes are connected to the access switch in the computing and storage zone:

  • VMware compute node (inventory management)
  • Service storage (the data plane uses storage access switches.)
