Logical Multi-Tenant and Physical Multi-Tenant Services

Logical Multi-Tenant and Physical Multi-Tenant Services

ADS provides the analytic database service capability for users on their existing MPP database platforms. It allocates a tenant or user account on the MPP database platform to the service applicant, and grants data permissions and resource quotas to the tenant. The applicant, as a user of this platform, only has permissions to use it. ADS is a logical multi-tenant service.

Physical Multi-Tenant

Physical multi-tenant indicates that a new Kubernetes resource is generated when each service instance is created.

For example: To create a service instance in physical multi-tenant mode, you can create a MySQL application instance.

Logical Multi-Tenant

Logical multi-tenant indicates that all Kubernetes resources have been created at the beginning. An instance is created by dividing a small block in the resource.

For example: To create a service instance in logical multi-tenant mode, you can create a database in the public MySQL as a service instance.
