What Is Host Security Service?
Definition
Host Security Service (HSS) is a terminal security protection service. It integrates third-party host security products (such as Trend Micro) or self-developed products to provide security functions such as host intrusion prevention system (HIPS) to ensure the security of Elastic Cloud Servers (ECSs).
Functions
HSS provides the following functions:
- Host security integration: Currently, the cloud platform can be interconnected with the Deep Security protection system of Trend Micro/AsiaInfo to provide host security protection functions such as host firewall, intrusion detection and defense, defense against malicious software (such as Trojan horses and worm spyware), and log audit.
- Protection status monitoring of tenant ECSs: The monitored statuses include normal, offline, and disabled.
Restrictions
Currently, HSS integrates self-developed or third-party host security products and provides tenant-specific host security services.
The current version can be interconnected only with the Deep Security protection system 9.6SP1 of Trend Micro/AsiaInfo. The number of supported agents depends on the specifications of the management control end of Trend Micro/AsiaInfo.
