What Is vAPP?

What Is vAPP?

Definition

vAPP allows users to drag diagram elements on the visualized orchestration interface to quickly and automatically deploy computing, storage, network, and application resources based on service requirements and serves users as a whole, helping quick service rollout.

Function

The vAPP service allows you to:

  • Manage instances. For example, view, extend, or delete vAPP instances created on ManageOne.
  • Manage scripts. For example, view, add, modify, and delete scripts.
  • Manage templates. VDC administrators can view, export, delete, or create products from the imported templates.

Restrictions

vAPP has the following restrictions:

  • Before using the vAPP, ensure that the "Standard edition and value-added feature" license of ManageOne supporting the vAPP service has been imported and the resource pool has been updated.
    NOTE:
    • For details about detailed license operations, see chapter "ManageOne" in FusionCloud 6.3.0 License Guide.
    • The operation administrator updates the resource pool on the System > Cloud Resource Pool Access > Private Cloud Access page.
  • If the Resource Template Service (RTS) is manually deployed, the operation administrator needs to update the resource pool on the System > Cloud Resource Pool Access > Private Cloud Access page before the vAPP is used.
  • The template package to be imported must be in the ZIP format.
  • The RTS template package to be imported cannot include a folder.
  • The file name of the RTS template file to be imported cannot contain any Chinese character.
  • The topology of the instance created using the RTS template may be inaccurate.
  • For the environment migrated from ManageOne 3.X, only the scaling group configuration of the vAPP instance can be modified.
