EdgeFW

EdgeFW

Definition

Edge Firewall (EdgeFW) is a bridge connecting the internal network and the external network. EdgeFW provides border security protection for the north-south traffic between the cloud data center and external networks, and supports intrusion prevention system (IPS) and network antivirus (AV) functions based on elastic public IP addresses.

Functions

EdgeFW provides the following functions:

  • Security protection: When EIP/ELB is enabled, EdgeFW provides access control, intrusion prevention, and antivirus for north-south traffic of elastic public IP addresses.
  • Security logs: Allows you to view log details based on the source address, destination address, date, attack type, and protocol.
  • Statistic reports: Displays the rankings of attack types, trends, and protocols in charts.

Restrictions

The traffic of elastic public IP addresses must pass through the hardware firewall for protection from EdgeFW.
