Obtaining UVP VMTools


This section describes how to obtain UVP VMTools.


  • You have obtained the FusionSphere OpenStack V100R00xCxx_Tool.tar.gz file.
  • You have obtained the address, username, and password for logging in to the FusionSphere OpenStack web client.
    • Region Type I scenario: Log in to the cascading FusionSphere OpenStack web client.
    • Region Type II scenario: Log in to the FusionSphere OpenStack web client.


  1. On the local PC, decompress the FusionSphere OpenStack V100R00xCxx_Tool.tar.gz file using 7-Zip.
  2. Go to the UVPVMTools folder, decompress the package, and obtain the VMTOOLSV200R005C00SPCxxxBxxx.tar.gz file.
  3. Select an operating platform based on the Region Type scenario.

    • In the Region Type I scenario, log in to the cascading FusionSphere OpenStack web client.
    • In the Region Type II scenario, log in to the FusionSphere OpenStack web client.

  4. Choose O&M > Service Package Mgmt and upload the VMTOOLSV200R005C00SPCxxxBxxx.tar.gz installation package.
  5. NOTE:

    The following steps only apply to FusionCloud 6.3.0.

    Choose Configuration > Role. On the role configuration page, select all hosts in the AZ for creating images and add the VMTools role.
    1. On the role configuration page, scroll to the bottom of the page and select hosts for which you want to add the VMTools role. You can select a maximum of two hosts at a time.
    2. After selecting the host, find the VMTools role in System Role Management Workspace on the right and drag the role to the corresponding host in Role Configuration Workspace.
    3. Click .
    4. Repeat steps 5.a to c to add the VMTools role to other hosts.
