Modifying Permissions for Accessing a CIFS Share
This section describes how to modify the permissions of a local authentication user or user group, domain user or user group for accessing CIFS shares based on service requirements.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Provisioning >
Share > CIFS (Windows/MAC).
- In the CIFS share list, select the CIFS share whose user or user group you want to modify.
- Add users or user groups for accessing the CIFS share.
- On the Users/User Groups tab, click Add.
The Add User/User Group dialog box is displayed.
- In User/User Group, select the user type or user group type.
- If you select Everyone, click Add.
The system adds Everyone to the list.
Everyone means every user has the access permission.
- If you select Local authentication user or Local authentication user group, click Find, and select the desired user or user group in the displayed Find Local Authentication User or Find Local Authentication User Group dialog box. Click OK.
- In Permission Level, select the CIFS access permission for the user or user group added.
The CIFS access permission levels include:
- Full control: The user has full permission for the CIFS share.
- Read-only (default value): The user can only read the CIFS share.
- Read and write: The user can read and write the CIFS share.
- Forbidden: The user is forbidden to access the CIFS share.
- Click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed.
- Click Close.
- On the Users/User Groups tab, click Add.
- Modify the permission of a user or user group.
- In Users/User Groups, select the user or user group whose permission you want to modify and click Properties.
The User/User Group Properties dialog box is displayed.
- Select a new permission for the user or user group.
A user's possible permissions to access a CIFS share include:
- Full control: The user has full permission for the CIFS share.
- Read-only: The user can only read the CIFS share.
- Read and write: The user can read and write the CIFS share.
- Forbidden: The user is forbidden to access the CIFS share.
- Click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed.
- Click Close.
- In Users/User Groups, select the user or user group whose permission you want to modify and click Properties.
- Remove a user or user group.
- In Users/User Groups, select the user or user group you want to remove and click Remove.
The security alert dialog box is displayed.
- Confirm the information in the dialog box, select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation, and click OK.
The Execution Result dialog box is displayed.
- Click Close.
- In Users/User Groups, select the user or user group you want to remove and click Remove.
