Modifying the Virtual Network Port ID on Each Storage Node

Modifying the Virtual Network Port ID on Each Storage Node

If the VLAN ID of the back-end storage network switch is not 2, perform the following steps to change the virtual network port ID on each storage node:

  1. See chapter Logging In to the Storage Node Using the KVM in this appendix to log in to the storage node.
  2. Run sh /usr/bin/setBackVlanForRoCE.sh ID to modify each node's virtual port ID. The ID must be an integer ranging from 2 to 9. Otherwise, the system will report an error.
    ATF50-75:~ # sh /usr/bin/setBackVlanForRoCE.sh 3 Successfully modified the virtual network port ID. Please reboot the system.
  3. Run reboot to restart the node.
  4. ATF50-75:~ # ifconfig SLOT4-0.3
    SLOT4-0.3: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST>  mtu 1500
             inet6 fe80::200:ff:fe00:b2  prefixlen 64  scopeid 0x20<link>
             ether 00:00:00:00:00:b2  txqueuelen 1000  (Ethernet)
             RX packets 0  bytes 0 (0.0 B)
             RX errors 0  dropped 0  overruns 0  frame 0
             TX packets 15345  bytes 5245902 (5.0 MiB)
             TX errors 0  dropped 0 overruns 0  carrier 0  collisions 0
  5. After the restart, re-log in to the node, and run the following commands to view the configuration of the virtual network port ID.
    • For a V3 node, run the ifconfig SLOT4-0.ID command.
      ATF50-75:~ # ifconfig SLOT4-0.3
      SLOT4-0.3: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST>  mtu 1500
               inet6 fe80::200:ff:fe00:b2  prefixlen 64  scopeid 0x20<link>
               ether 00:00:00:00:00:b2  txqueuelen 1000  (Ethernet)
               RX packets 0  bytes 0 (0.0 B)
               RX errors 0  dropped 0  overruns 0  frame 0
               TX packets 15345  bytes 5245902 (5.0 MiB)
               TX errors 0  dropped 0 overruns 0  carrier 0  collisions 0
    • For a V5 node, run the ifconfig SLOT1-0.ID command.
      ATF50-75:~ # ifconfig SLOT1-0.3
      SLOT1-0.3: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST>  mtu 1500
               inet6 fe80::200:ff:fe00:b2  prefixlen 64  scopeid 0x20<link>
               ether 00:00:00:00:00:b2  txqueuelen 1000  (Ethernet)
               RX packets 0  bytes 0 (0.0 B)
               RX errors 0  dropped 0  overruns 0  frame 0
               TX packets 15345  bytes 5245902 (5.0 MiB)
               TX errors 0  dropped 0 overruns 0  carrier 0  collisions 0
