Reinstalling the Production Mirroring Software on a V5 Node


  • You have decompressed and obtained the .iso production image file.
  • The web browser of the installation PC can be used to log in to the remote console.


  1. Log in to iBMC WebUI by referring to Remotely Logging In to the iBMC Management Page of a Storage Node Through the Mgmt Port.
  2. Choose Configuration > Boot Device.

    • If the RAID does not need to be reconstructed, set the parameters as shown in Figure 8-18.

    • If the RAID needs to be reconstructed, set the parameters as shown in Figure 8-9.

  3. Mount the production image.
    1. Select Remote Console, and click HTML5 Integrated Remote Console (Shared) under Integrated Remote Console. Start the remote console as prompted.


      If the remote console fails to be started, see online help.

    2. Mount the production image, as shown in Figure 8-10.

  4. Restart the node and enter the BIOS.
    1. Restart the node, as shown in Figure 8-11.

    2. As shown in Figure 8-12, press F11 to enter Front Page and enter the BIOS password. The default BIOS password is Admin@9000.

  5. Optional: Configure RAID for system disks.


    RAID has been configured for devices before delivery. Perform this operation only when RAID group failures occur.

    1. After the output in Figure 8-13 is displayed, wait about 35s until the output in Figure 8-14 is displayed. Then press Ctrl+C to go to the BIOS page of the SAS card.

      Press Ctrl+C quickly because the page stays for only about 3s.

      If you miss the BIOS startup page, click the Power Management icon (the third one from left to right) in the tool bar, and choose Forced System Reset. The Select an Option dialog box is displayed. Click Yes to restart the node.

      The BIOS page is displayed, as shown in Figure 8-33

    2. As shown in Figure 8-15, press Enter and select RAID Properties > Manage Volume > Delete Volume. Enter Y on the page that is displayed.

    3. Press Y, select RAID Properties > Create RAID 1 Volume. As shown in Figure 8-16, use the arrow keys to select the two disks at the bottom of the disk list. In the RAID Disk column, press Space and press Enter on the page that is displayed to clear data. Press C and choose Save changes then exit this menu to create the RAID.

    4. Select SAS Topology > LSI. Press Alt+B to set the Device parameter in the current line to Boot, as shown in Figure 8-17. Press Esc and select Save changes then exit this menu.

    5. On the iBMC WebUI, select Configuration > Boot Device. As shown in Figure 8-18, set the boot mode to UEFI and click Save.

    6. Press Esc twice and select Exit the Configuration Utility and Reboot.
  6. Install the production image.
    1. Press Esc to go back to the page shown in Figure 8-19 and select Boot Manager.

    2. Select the boot device shown in Figure 8-20.

    3. As shown in Figure 8-21, select Installation and press Enter. The page shown in Figure 8-22 will be displayed for about 5 minutes. The system automatically restarts and installs the operating system.

      During the installation, the node automatically restarts for several times. Wait for about 90 minutes until the operating system login page is displayed, indicating that the installation succeeds. If the login page is not displayed, press Enter.
