Checking the Configurations

Checking the Configurations

After configuring dynamic BFD for LDP LSP, you can view BFD configurations and session information on the ingress and egress of a specified LDP LSP.

Prerequisites

Dynamic BFD used to monitor LDP LSP has been configured.

Procedure

  • Run the display mpls bfd session [ fec ip-address | nexthop ip-address | outgoing-interface interface-type interface-number | protocol { rsvp-te | ldp } ] [ verbose ] command to check BFD session information.
  • Run the display bfd session all verbose command on the ingress to check BFD session information.
  • Run the display bfd session passive-dynamic verbose command on the egress to check BFD session information.

Example

Run the display mpls bfd session [ fec ip-address | nexthop ip-address | outgoing-interface interface-type interface-number | protocol { rsvp-te | ldp } ] verbose command on the ingress or egress to view the status of the dynamically created BFD session. The command output shows that the BFD session is in the Up state and the BFD session is bound to an LDP LSP.

Run the display bfd session passive-dynamic verbose command on the egress to view the status of the passively created BFD session. Peer IP Address in the BFD Bind Type field in the command output shows that BFD packets sent by the egress are transmitted using an IP routing protocol. The default values (10 ms) of min-tx-interval and min-rx-interval on the egress are used to negotiate the intervals at which BFD packets are sent and received because BFD parameters cannot be modified on the egress.
