Removing a GPU Card


  1. Remove the GP608. For details, see Removing the GP608.
  2. Place the GP608 on the ESD floor.
  3. Remove the cover. For details, see Removing the Cover of the GP608.
  4. Determine the GPU card to be removed. Figure 5-102 shows the locations of GPU cards.

  5. Remove one end of the power cable from the GPU card to be removed. The other end connecting to the PCIe board does not need to be removed.
  6. Loosen the two screws on the GPU card using a Phillips screwdriver. See (1) in Figure 5-103.

  7. Remove the GPU card from the slot. See (2) in Figure 5-103.
  8. Remove the bracket from the GPU card.
  9. Place the removed GPU card in an ESD bag.
  10. If a new GPU card is to be installed, install the removed GPU card bracket on the new card. For details, see 7.
  11. If a new GPU card is not to be installed immediately, install the removed bracket on the GP608 chassis and install a GPU card filler module. Place the power cable in the GP608 cable guide.

    1. Align the GPU filler module with the slot, and insert the GPU filler module into the slot. See (1) in Figure 5-104.

    2. Tighten the screw using a Phillips screwdriver to secure the GPU filler module. See (2) in Figure 5-104.

  12. Install the cover of the GP608. For details, see Installing the Cover of the GP608.
