Removing an M.2 FRU


  1. Locate the M.2 FRU. See Figure 5-42.

    Determine the position of the M.2 FRU to be removed. Do not remove the entire M.2 module that contains the OS. Otherwise, all services on the board will be affected.

  1. Open the handle of the M.2 FRU, and hold the handle to pull the M.2 FRU out of the slot. See (1) and (2) in Figure 5-43.

  2. Place the removed M.2 FRU into an ESD bag.
  3. (Optional) If you do not install a new M.2 FRU immediately, install an M.2 FRU filler panel to shield electromagnetic radiation.
