Checking the G560 V5

There are two methods available for checking the G560 V5, as shown in Figure 4-15. Select one of them based on the actual situation.

For details about commands to be used, see the FusionServer G5500 Server iBMC User Guide.

Procedure

  1. Check the indicator status.

    Check the indicators of the G560 V5 and ensure that it is working properly. For details, see Front Panel Indicators and Buttons.

  2. Check the G560 V5.

    • Using the iBMC WebUI
      1. Log in to the iBMC WebUI. For details, see Logging In to the iBMC WebUI.
        NOTE:

        You are advised to change the default password after the first login. For details, see Changing the Initial iBMC Password.

      2. Choose System > Firmware Upgrade, and check that the firmware information meets site requirements.

      3. Choose Information > Overview, and check the server health status.

      4. Clear alarms if any. For details, see the FusionServer G5500 Server iBMC User Guide.
    • Using the iBMC CLI
      1. Configure an IP address for the PC and ensure that it is on the same network segment as that of the iBMC management network port.
      2. Use a network cable to connect the PC and to the iBMC management network port of the G5500.
      3. Start a CLI terminal, such as SSH or PuTTY, and enter the iBMC IP address, user name, and password to log in to the CLI.
        NOTE:

        By default, the iBMC supports login over SSH. If the SSH service has been disabled, you need to enable it on the iBMC WebUI (Configuration > Services) and save the setting.

      4. Run the ipmcget -d version command to query the G560 V5 firmware version information.

        Ensure that the G560 V5 firmware version information meets site requirements.
