This section describes how to configure the installed G560 V5 to support upper-layer services.

Configuration Process

Figure 4-12 shows the initial configuration process for the G560 V5.

Log in to the iBMC WebUI.

Configure a local PC and log in to the iBMC WebUI.

Check the G560 V5.

  • Check the version information of the G560 V5 and ensure that the version information meets site requirements.
  • Check for alarms about the G560 V5.

Change the initial password.

Change the iBMC default password.

Configure the iBMC.

  • Change the default password for the iBMC.
  • Configure the iBMC IP address for the G560 V5.

Log in to the Remote Virtual Console.

Log in to the iBMC WebUI, and then log in to theRemote Virtual Console of the G560 V5.

Configure RAID.

The G560 V5 supports three types of RAID controller cards: LSI SAS3008, Avago SAS3408, and Avago SAS3508.

  • LSI SAS3008 supports two RAID modes, RAID 0 and 1.
  • Avago SAS3408 supports two RAID modes, RAID 0 and 1.
  • Avago SAS3508 supports seven RAID modes, RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60.

Configure the basic input/output system (BIOS).

Configure the BIOS of the G560 V5, including restarting the server to access the BIOS screen, querying the iBMC IP address, and setting the system language, BIOS password, server boot option, and boot device.

Install an OS.

Install an OS for the G560 V5.


Use the Huawei Server Compatibility Checker to check OSs supported by the G560 V5.
