(Optional) Installing the RAID Controller Card
The G560 V5 supports four types of RAID controller cards: LSI SAS3008, LSI SAS3108, Avago SAS3408, and Avago SAS3508. The following uses the LSI SAS3108 as an example, and the procedure for installing the LSI SAS3008, Avago SAS3408, and Avago SAS3508 RAID controller cards is similar.
The LSI SAS3108 and Avago SAS3508 RAID controller cards can be used to expand the capacity of hard disks on the GP608 and GS608.
Procedure
- Power off the G560 V5. For details, see Powering Off the Compute Node.
- Remove the G560 V5. For details, see Removing the G560 V5.
- Place the G560 V5 on the ESD floor.
- Remove the cover. For details, see Removing the Cover of the G560 V5.
- Determine the location for installing the RAID controller card. See Figure 5-22.
- Take a spare RAID controller card out of its ESD bag.
- Insert the RAID controller card vertically downwards into the connector on the mainboard. See (1) in Figure 5-23.
- Tighten the two screws using a Phillips screwdriver to secure the RAID controller card. See (2) in Figure 5-23.
- Install the cover. For details, see Installing the Cover of the G560 V5.
- Install the G560 V5. For details, see Installing the G560 V5.
- Power on the G560 V5. For details, see Powering On the Compute Node.
