Installing an M.2 FRU


  1. Determine the position for installing an M.2 FRU. See Figure 5-3.

  1. (Optional) Remove the drive filler module.
  2. Take an M.2 FRU out of its ESD bag.

  3. Hold the handle of the M.2 FRU and push the M.2 FRU into the M.2 adapter slot. See (1) in Figure 5-5.

    For slots where you do not want to install M.2 FRUs, install M.2 FRU filler panels to shield electromagnetic radiation.

  4. Close the handle of the M.2 FRU. See (2) in Figure 5-5.
  1. Check the M.2 FRU indicator status.

    If the M.2 FRU fault indicator is off, the M.2 FRU is operating properly. For details, see Front Panel Indicators and Buttons.
