Installing a DIMM


  1. Wear ESD gloves and take a spare DIMM out of its ESD bag.
  2. Open the DIMM ejectors. See Figure 3-54.

  3. Align the DIMM with the DIMM slot, and insert the DIMM into the slot. See steps (1) and (2) in Figure 3-55.


    When installing a DIMM, do not squeeze the thermal pad of the DIMM to prevent it from being deformed.

  4. Place the liquid-cooled DIMM upside down, align the heat sink with the DIMM slot, and gradually place the liquid-cooled module on the tray along the guide sleeves. See (1) and (2) in Figure 3-56.

  5. Use a Phillips screwdriver to fasten the screws on the liquid-cooled module. See (3) in Figure 3-56.
  6. Use the Phillips screwdriver to fasten the three screws that secure the liquid-cooled module. See (1) in Figure 3-57.

  7. Install the node panel in the arrow direction, and use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screws on the node panel. See (2) and (3) in Figure 3-57.


    Ensure that the screws on the heat sink are fastened.
