M.2 SATA SSD Card

Removing an M.2 SATA SSD Card

  1. Wear ESD gloves.
  2. Locate the M.2 SATA SSD card to be removed, remove the M.2 and TPM cables. See Figure 3-58.
  3. Press the release button on the M.2 to TPM adapter. See (1) in Figure 3-58.
  4. Remove the adapter board of the M.2 SATA SSD card. See (2) in Figure 3-58.

  5. Unscrew the M.2 SATA SSD card using an Phillips screwdriver. See (1) in Figure 3-59.

  6. Raise the M.2 SATA SSD card upwards 20°to 30°and remove it. See (2) in Figure 3-59.
  7. Place the removed M.2 SATA SSD card in an ESD bag.

Installing an M.2 SATA SSD Card

  1. Wear ESD gloves.
  2. Take the spare M.2 SATA SSD card out of its ESD bag.
  3. Check that no M.2 to TPM adapter is installed in the destination slot.
  4. Position the M.2 SATA SSD card 20°to 30°and insert it into the M.2 SSD riser card. See (1) in Figure 3-60.

  5. Screw the M.2 SATA SSD card using a Phillips screwdriver. See (2) in Figure 3-60.
  6. Align the M.2 SATA SSD card with the positioning pin on the server node, and insert the M.2 SATA SSD card module to the slot on the server node. See Figure 3-61.

  7. Connect the M.2 and TPM cables. See Cabling
