Removing a PCIe Card

  1. Locate the PCIe card to be removed. See Figure 3-19.

  2. (Optional) Remove the cable between the PCIe card and NCSI connector. For details, see Internal Cabling for PCIe Card.
  3. Unscrew the node panel using an M3 Phillips screwdriver. See (1) in Figure 3-20.

  4. Remove the front panel in the direction of the arrow. See (2) in Figure 3-20.
  5. Use an M3 Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screw that secures the PCIe card tray to the mainboard. See (3) in Figure 3-20.
  6. Lift the card tray. See (4) in Figure 3-20.
  7. Hold the card tray, and remove the card from the tray. See (5) in Figure 3-20.
  8. Place the removed card in an ESD bag.

Installing a PCIe Card

  1. Take a spare PCIe card out of its ESD bag.
  2. Determine the position for installing the card. See Figure 3-21.
  3. (Optional) Connect the cable between the PCIe card and NCSI connector. For details, see Internal Cabling for PCIe Card.
  4. Hold the card tray, and insert the PCIe card into the tray. See (1) in Figure 3-21.

  5. Insert the tray into the PCIe slot. See (2) in Figure 3-21.
  6. Use an M3 Phillips screwdriver to screw in and secure the PCIe card tray. See (3) in Figure 3-21.
  7. Insert the node panel. See (4) in Figure 3-21.
  8. Tighten the screws on the node panel using an M3 Phillips screwdriver. See (5) in Figure 3-21.
