This topic describes the procedure and example of configuring services in E2E mode when an LDC board runs at different rates and in different port working modes.

Configuration Procedures

This topic describes the configuration process of an LDC board.

General Configuration Procedure

Figure 2-24 shows the general configuration procedure for the LDC board.

Mandatory

Set the line-side rate mode of the LDC board.
  • Parameter settings:
    • 100G_QPSK
    • 200G_16QAM
    • 200G_8QAM
  • Operation description: In the NE Explorer, select an LDC board, choose Configuration > WDM Interface from the Function Tree, click the Advanced Attributes tab, and set Port Rate Mode of the WDM-side port.
NOTE:

If service cross-connections have been configured, delete the service cross-connections of the LDC board first, and then verify that the service type of the client-side port is None. The line-side rate mode can be changed only when the service type of the client-side port is None.

In the following scenarios, the line-side rate cannot be changed to 100G_QPSK.
  • If the Port Working Mode of the optical port 4(RX2/TX2) is ODU4 non-convergence mode(Any->ODU4), the line-side rate cannot be switched to 100G_QPSK.
  • If the Port Working Mode of the optical port 3(RX1/TX1) is ODU4 non-convergence mode(Any->ODU4) and that of the optical port 4(RX2/TX2) is ODUflex non-convergence mode(Any->ODUflex), the line-side rate cannot be switched to 100G_QPSK.
  • If Port Working Mode for optical port 3 (RX1/TX1) or optical port 4 (RX2/TX2) is ODUflex FC mode (FC->ODUflex), the line-side rate cannot be switched to 100G_QPSK.
2 Configure the port working mode.

Mandatory

  • Parameter settings:
    • ODUflex FC mode(FC->ODU4)
    • ODUflex non-convergence mode(Any->ODUflex)
    • ODU4 non-convergence mode(Any->ODU4)
    • NONE(not for ports)
  • Operation description: For details about the configuration procedure, see Configuring the Working Mode.
3 Configure the service type.

Mandatory

  • Parameter settings:
    • None (default)
    • 100GE
    • OTU4
    • FC-1600
    • FC-3200
  • Operation description: For details about the configuration procedure, see Configuring the Service Type.
4 Create WDM trails.

Optional

NOTE:
  • If the port working mode is ODU4 non-convergence mode(Any->ODU4), WDM trails do not need to be created.
  • If the port working mode is ODUflex non-convergence mode(Any->ODUflex) or ODUflex FC mode (FC->ODUflex), WDM trails need to be created.
  • Parameter settings:
    • For FC services, the parameters for creating WDM trails are set as follows:
      • Level: Client
      • Service Type: FC1600
    • For 100GE services, the parameters for creating WDM trails are set as follows:
      • Level: ODUflex
      • Service Type: PACKET
      • Occupied ODTUK Timeslots: 1-80
  • Operation description:
5 Search for WDM trails.

Optional

NOTE:
  • If the port working mode is ODU4 non-convergence mode(Any->ODU4), service cross-connections do not need to be created, and WDM trails are directly searched out.
  • If the port working mode is ODUflex non-convergence mode(Any->ODUflex), for FC services, directly create Client trails; for 100GE services, search for WDM trails after the creation of ODUk trails.

Configuration Example: 100GE->ODU4->ODUC2->OTUC2 Services Without Protection

This topic describes how to configure 100GE->ODU4->ODUC2->OTUC2 services without protection.

Example Description

This topic uses the LDC board as an example to describe the application networking and signal flow of 100GE->ODU4->ODUC2->OTUC2 services without protection.

Service Requirements

On the network shown in Figure 2-25, sites A and B form a point-to-point network, and both sites are OTM sites. The service requirements are as follows:

  • User1 and User2 communicate with each other. One bidirectional OTUC2 service is configured between sites A and B.
  • Two 100GE services are added to and dropped from User1 and User2 each.

In this example, one TN11LDC board is configured at site A and site B separately.

Configuration Procedure

This topic describes how to configure 100GE->ODU4->ODUC2->OTUC2 services without protection.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an NM user with "NE administrator" authority or higher.
  • Inter- and intra-site physical and logical fiber connections have been correctly created.

Background Information

The line-side rate modes, port working modes, and service types of the boards at sites A and B must be set to the same values.

Procedure

  1. Configure the line-side rate mode of the boards at sites A and B.
    Configuration example at site A:

    If service cross-connections have been configured, delete the service cross-connections of the LDC board first, and then verify that the service type of the client-side port is None. The line-side rate mode can be changed only when the service type of the client-side port is None.

  2. Configure the port working mode at sites A and B respectively. For details, see Configuring the Working Mode.

  3. Configure the board service type for the boards at sites A and B respectively. For details, see Configuring the Service Type.

Result

To view the created trail, choose Service > WDM Trail > Manage WDM Trail from the main menu. In the Manage WDM Trail window that is displayed, set the criteria to search for the new trail.

Configuration Example: FC1600 -> ODUflex -> ODU4 -> OTU4 Services

This topic describes the E2E configuration process of FC1600 -> ODUflex -> ODU4 -> OTU4 services.

Example Description

This topic uses the LDC board as an example to describe the application networking and signal flow of FC1600->ODUflex->ODU4->OTU4 services.

    3. Set the source and sink.
      1. In the physical topology on the right, double-click the source NE and set the source port.

      2. Click Working Mode Settings, and set the working mode to ODUflex non-convergence mode(Any->ODUflex).

      3. Set the sink port using the same method. After the setting is completed, the interface shown in the following figure is displayed.

      4. Select Auto-Calculation and click Apply to complete the creation of a Client trail.
  3. Create the second channel of FC1600 services with reference to 2.
    NOTE:
    When creating the second channel of FC1600 services, you must select 4(RX2/TX2) as the source and sink ports.

Result

To view the created trail, choose Service > WDM Trail > Manage WDM Trail from the main menu. In the Manage WDM Trail window that is displayed, set the criteria to search for the new trail.
