Configuring the NNIs

Configuring the NNIs

Configuring the NNIs is the basis of configuring packet Ethernet services.

Configuring NNI Port Attributes

You can set the port mode to Layer 3 and the IP address in Layer 3 Attributes manually.

You must be an NM user with "NE operator" authority or higher.

  1. In the NE Explorer, select the NE. In the navigation tree, choose Configuration > Packet Configuration > Interface Management > Ethernet Interface.
  2. Select an NNI port and set the mandatory parameters for the NNI port.

    • On the Layer 3 Attributes tab, set IP Address Config Way to Manually and set IP Address and IP Mask for the port.
    • Ensure that the IP address of the NNI port is not in the same network segment as that of another port on which services have been configured or the IP address of the NE; otherwise, services may be interrupted or the NE may be unreachable.
    • Along an MPLS tunnel, the IP address of a port and that of its next-hop port must be in the same network segment.

  3. Optional: Select the desired port based on the network planning, and set parameters related to MPLS interfaces on the MPLS TE tab in the lower part. If the parameters related to MPLS interfaces are not properly set, MPLS tunnels cannot be created.

    1. On the MPLS TE tab in the lower part, click Create. The MPLS Interface [Create] dialog box is displayed.
    2. In MPLS Interface [Create], select the desired MPLS interface based on the network planning and set Maximum Reservable Bandwidth (kbit/s) and Bc0 bandwidth (kbit/s) for the MPLS interface.
    3. Click OK.

  4. Optional: Set other NNI port parameters. The other parameters can retain the default values or be modified based on the actual service plan. For details, see Parameter Description: Attributes of Ethernet Interface.
