Configuring E-Line Services

You can create E-Line services to achieve point-to-point transmission of Ethernet services.

Configuring UNI-UNI E-Line Services

This topic describes how to create an E-Line service that is transparently transmitted in end-to-end mode or is transmitted based on VLANs.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an NM user with NE administrator authority or higher.
  • If a port needs to be occupied exclusively, disable the DCN function of the port.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Configuration > Packet Configuration > Ethernet Service Management > E-Line Service from Function Tree.
  2. Configure basic parameters of the VPWS instance for the E-Line service.
    1. Click Create. Then, the VPWS Instance dialog box is displayed. Set Service Type to UNI-UNI.

    2. In the VPWS Instance dialog box, set the other basic parameters. For details about the parameters, see E-Line Service Parameters (Configuration on a Per-NE Basis).
  3. Add an AC port.
    1. Click the button to the left of L2VPN AC List. The Interface[Select] dialog box is displayed, listing the AC ports available to the NE.
    2. Optional: If the AC port is a sub-interface with a VLAN, you can click Create in the Interface[Select] dialog box to display the Interface[Create] dialog box. In the Interface[Create] dialog box, configure the parameters related to the sub-interface. Then, click OK in the Interface[Create] dialog box. You can also select a created Ethernet virtual interface. For details about the creation method, see Configuring Ethernet Virtual Interfaces.
    3. In the Interface[Select] dialog box, select the two AC ports to be added, and configure service-related parameters (such as VLAN ID) on the AC port.
    4. Click OK.
  4. Click OK to create the E-Line service.
  5. Optional: Configure UNI QoS parameters.
    1. Select the service that needs the UNI QoS parameter configuration, and click the UNI QoS tab.
    2. Set the UNI QoS related parameters.
    3. Click Apply.

Configuring UNI-NNI E-Line Services Carried by PWs

In the case of the UNI-NNI E-Line services carried by PWs, the user data is accessed from a UNI and is then sent to an NNI where the user data is carried by a PW. In this manner, the point-to-point transparent transmission of the user data is realized.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an NM user with NE administrator authority or higher.
  • The MPLS tunnel that carries the PWs must be configured.
  • If a port needs to be occupied exclusively, disable the DCN function of the port.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Configuration > Packet Configuration > Ethernet Service Management > E-Line Service from Function Tree.
  2. Configure basic parameters of the VPWS instance for the E-Line service.
    1. Click Create. Then, the VPWS Instance dialog box is displayed.

    2. In the VPWS Instance dialog box, set the basic parameters. For details about the parameters, see E-Line Service Parameters (Configuration on a Per-NE Basis).
  3. Add an AC port.
    1. Click the button to the left of L2VPN AC List. The Interface[Select] dialog box is displayed, listing the AC ports available to the NE.
    2. Optional: If the AC port is a sub-interface with a VLAN, you can click Create in the Interface[Select] dialog box to display the Interface[Create] dialog box.     3. In the Interface[Select] dialog box, select the AC port to be added, and configure service-related parameters (such as VLAN ID) on the AC port.
    4. Click OK.
  4. Configure a PW.
    1. Click the button to the left of PW Configuration List to display the PW Configuration parameter list. Then, configure basic attribute parameters of the PW. For details about the basic attribute parameters of a PW for the E-Line service, see E-Line Service Parameters (Configuration on a Per-NE Basis).
  5. Optional: Configure PW protection.
    1. Click the button to the left of Reliability List to display the Reliability List parameter list. Then, configure related parameters.
    2. After the settings, click OK.
  6. Optional: Configure UNI QoS parameters.
    1. Select the service that needs the UNI QoS parameter configuration, and click the UNI QoS tab.
    2. Set the UNI QoS related parameters.
    3. Click Apply.
  7. Optional: Configure PW QoS parameters.
    1. Click the PW QoS tab, and configure PW QoS related parameters.
    2. Click Apply.

Creating E-Line Services Carried by QinQ

When the QinQ link or flexible QinQ is used to carry E-Line services, multiple VLANs of the user network are encapsulated in QinQ mode into one VLAN in the transport network, saving the VLAN resources of the transport network.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an NMS user with "NE administrator" authority or higher.
  • The port Ethernet attribute has been correctly configured. For details about the configuration method, see Configuring an Ethernet Port.
  • The QinQ sub-interface has been created. To carry services in QinQ Link mode, create QinQ Link sub-interfaces first. To carry services in Selective QinQ mode, create mapping sub-interfaces. For details about the creation method, see Creating Ethernet Virtual Interfaces.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Configuration > Packet Configuration > Ethernet Service Management > E-Line Service.
  2. Click Create. The VPWS Instance[Create] dialog box is displayed.
  3. Set the basic parameters of a VPWS instance for using QinQ to carry E-Line services. Set Service Type of E-Line services to UNI-UNI. For details about the parameters, see E-Line Service Parameters (Configuration on a Per-NE Basis).

  4. Add AC ports.
    1. Click the button on the left of L2VPN AC List. In the Interface[Select] dialog box that is displayed, the available AC ports on the NE are listed.
    2. In the Interface[Select] dialog box, select two AC ports (QinQ sub-interfaces) to be added.

      NOTE:
      The created virtual interface must be selected, and the sub-interface type must be supported by the interface service carrying mode. For example, if an interface carries services in QinQ Link mode, select the QinQ Link sub-interface; if an interface carries services in Selective QinQ mode, select the mapping sub-interface; if an interface transparently transmits services, select the stacking sub-interface.

    3. Click OK.
  5. Click OK.
